Fatherhood Engagement Month

June is Fatherhood Engagement Month, a time to celebrate fathers and the important role they play in helping children feel safe, loved and supported. Fatherhood engagement encourages positive, active father-child relationships and promotes stronger connections with paternal family members when local departments of social services are working to support child safety and family well-being.

This year, VDSS is partnering with Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia, Depaul Community Resources and local departments of social services across Virginia to host regional events for fathers and their children. Fathers can also join the celebration by participating in the Fatherhood Engagement Bingo game. Download the bingo card, complete activities with your child throughout the month and check off each box as you go. Once you complete a bingo, bring your completed card to an in-person regional event to enter a raffle for a chance to win $250 and other fatherhood items.
